Genesis chapter 1 verse 29-30 is a fantastic passage.

Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground–everything that has the breath of life in it–I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.

God gives ample provision – utter generosity. It reminds me of Philippians 4 v 19 – “And my God shall supply all your needs, according to his riches in glory.” There really is no shortage.

Lack occurs when we mishandle this wonderful world he has handed us responsibility for. And it isn’t all down to the politicians.  We all need to think carefully about credit card debt, buying ethically wherever possible, and being generous with what we have.
