Giving me a wide margin!

Some years ago, I was given a book token as a leaving present, and decided I would spend it on a wide margin Bible. It was so hard to make that first mark in my scruffy handwriting! But once I got started, I found that because there was a space to write, I would dig around in my ponderings as I read a passage, and found that I did have something to put down, that was new – at least to me.

So, I look through my bible, and there are a lot of scribblings throughout most of the New Testament, but large blank spaces through a good deal of the Old Testament. Hmmm. Maybe it’s time to work my way through from the beginning. Some of those passages are quite hard, but I’m going to trust that God will give me something new in each section.

The real challenge, though, is that the idea came, not just to jot my ponderings down the wide margin of my bible, but also to blog on each thought and challenge that occurs to me as I work my way through these ancient scriptures.

I must admit, I’m a bit of a perfectionist with spellings and grammar, but in this blog, I’m going to give it just as it comes, so if you spot the odd error, don’t hold it against me!

I don’t know how long this project will take, and whether we’ll still be using keyboards before I reach the last chapter in Revelation…but here goes! This blog is really to make me do some spiritual digging – because, like the wide margin in my old bible, there is a space to express it. But if you’d like to join me on the journey, you’re more than welcome!
